Common Terms and Terminologies used by B-boys
In breakdancing,there are many common terms used by breakdancers .Knowledge of these terms proves that one is a real B-boy and one must be familiarized with all these terms in order to be considered a real,espected B-boy.Here are some examples:
1.Alien Ness:The president of the famous crew Zulu Kings.
2.Afrika Bambaataa:The pioneer and creator of Hip-Hop
3.Battle:A competition between two bboys.The winner is decided by either judging or the loudness of the cheers of the crowd.
4.B-boy:The proper term used to refer to breakdancers-the "b" could mean break,Bronx or beat.
5.B-girl:A female B-boy.
6.Biting:The act of a B-boy stealing/copying another person's style or signature move and claiming it as his own.Highly frowned upon in B-boying.
7.Biter:See Biting.
8.Burning:Taunting or disrespecting your opponent in a battle.
9.Call-out:A challenge to a B-boy battle.
10.Cypher:A circle formed by a group of dancers wherein music plays and anyone may step in and dance if he wants to.
11.Clean:A freestyle which is executed smoothly,with no mistake
12.Crash:A big mistake done while dancing (Ex.Falling off a handstand,stopping for more than 5 seconds,being interrupted in the middle of a move).
13.Dope:Someone who is very good at breakdancing,
14.Downrock:Floor rock,Footwork
15.Drop:A downward movement used to smoothly transition from standing position to floor moves.
16.E-Boy:A fake B-boy who claims he is the best on the internet,but in real life he can barely pull off any moves.
17.Flavor/Flava:One's unique style.
18.Foundation:Basic B-boy moves.
19.Freeze:A stylish pose used by B-boys usually to end/begin a freestyle.These usually require a B-boy to suspend himself in the air being supporetd by one hand.
20.Fresh:Term used to describe moves never before seen.
21.Hype:Energy.
22.Killing it:When a B-boy hits all the beats in a song,or when he is owning the floor.
23.Nasty:Someone who knows his foundations and has flavor,

25.Jams:A gathering of B-boys where they practice together,battle each other,or simply freestyle.
26.Power Moves:The aspect of the dance where a B-boy uses upper body strength (Abs,etc..) to execute a dynamic move.

29.Stacking:Going from one freeze to another smoothly.
